M Melanie Story // A história de Melanie The horse trucker For Melanie Benfer, practically everything revolves around horses – and around the transport of these four-legged friends. With a horse truck based on the Actros.

With a golden brown, shiny coat and a neatly trimmed mane, the horse is a majestic sight. And it is easily led into the box of the horse truck via the platform. 

For Melanie Benfer, the woman with the reins in her hand, the horses are not just proverbially in the best of hands. She has been working for the Böckmann stud farm for over 20 years.

The family business from the Oldenburg Münsterland produces top-class competition horses time and time again. And Melanie is one of the team who lovingly takes care of the animals. 

“I couldn’t imagine any job without horses”, she says. This is hardly a surprise, as she grew up on a farm and was around the animals from a very young age.

Growing up with horses

As well as looking after the animals, another job has also become second nature to Melanie: transporting them in horse trucks. “I was involved in competitions from the beginning, so my boss asked me if I wanted to drive myself.” 

And Melanie did want to, so at the age of 18, she got her truck driving licence immediately after getting her car licence.

The trucks used by Melanie and her colleagues, which, in addition to the horseboxes also have a comfortable living space, are manufactured in-house – by Böckmann Fahrzeugwerke, the sister company of the stud farm. Depending on the size, the Actros or Atego are used as the basis. “They drive really well.”

A arte de transportar cavalos 

Para Melanie Benfer, praticamente tudo gira em torno de cavalos e o transporte destes amigos de quatro patas. O que ela realiza com um caminhão Mercedes-Benz Actros.

Com um pelo marrom, brilhante dourado e uma crina bem aparada, o cavalo tem uma majestosa aparência. E é facilmente levado para a carroceria especial do caminhão através da plataforma.

Para Melanie Benfer, a mulher com as rédeas na mão, os cavalos não estão apenas providencialmente nas melhores mãos, ela trabalha para a Coudelaria Böckmann há mais de 20 anos.

O negócio da família de Münsterland Oldenburg é produzor cavalos de competição de primeira classe. E Melanie é uma pessoa da equipe que amorosamente cuida dos animais.

"Eu não podia imaginar qualquer trabalho sem os cavalos", ela diz. Isto não foi uma surpresa, porque ela cresceu em uma fazenda e desde muito jovem vivia em torno dos animais.

Crescer com cavalos

Além de cuidar dos animais, Melanie descobriu outra atividade que se tornou um trabalho,  transportar os cavalos. "Eu estava envolvida em competições desde o início, então meu chefe me perguntou se eu queria dirigir".

E Melanie, então com a idade de 18 anos, conseguiu sua carteira de condução de caminhão imediatamente depois de receber a carteira de dirigir automóveis.

Os caminhões usados por Melanie e seus colegas, além da área dos cavalos também têm um espaço confortável e são fabricados pela Böckmann Fahrzeugwerke, a  empresa-irmã da Coudelaria. Dependendo do tamanho, o Actros ou Atego são usados no transporte. "Eles são ótimos para dirigir".
